Wouldn’t it be nice to have a perfect family? You know, parents and kids who get along 100 percent of the time? Well, that’s just not reality. But sometimes, something happens that proves that no matter what, you have a strong family unit.

Sibling rivalry

In every family with kids, there’s a thing called sibling rivalry. Whether you have girls, boys, or a combination of the two, you can expect them to squabble from time-to-time. And usually, it’s over the silliest things.

Thicker than thieves

If you’ve never heard that phrase before, it relates to family members who stick together no matter what. That’s something that happens even between kids. Sure, they might fight one minute but the next, they have each other’s backs.

An incredible moment

Thanks to the internet, millions of people get to witness other family’s situations…good and bad. But one video posted in 2018 showed the best side of two kids. In it, you see what happened when a little girl was playing basketball.

Shooting hoops

With a miniature basketball goal in the driveway, a small girl tried hard to get the ball through the net. But due to her size, she struggled. Even when on her tippy toes, she couldn’t quite reach.

She kept missing

No matter how hard this adorable girl tried to make a basket, she kept missing. She was so upset that eventually, she began to cry. The only thing she wanted to do was make a single basket.

Overwhelmed and frustrated

The second this girl started to cry…her older brother walked over to her. But it’s what he did next that makes this video so special. He instinctively put his arm around her to provide comfort.

It gets better

As if the hug wasn’t enough to make this an awesome video, this boy went a step further to help his younger sister. Knowing she was still upset, he walked around so he could face her. Then, he began to talk to her in a sweet and loving way.

Now comes the best part

After several more hugs, this boy did the unexpected. He scrunched down so he was on his sister’s level. Then, he gives her the best pep talk ever. She continues to cry so he has to come up with a different plan.

Plan C

That’s when this boy walks over to retrieve the basketball that’s lying off to the side. This kid is determined to do whatever it takes to make his baby sister feel better. He then hands her the ball while saying, “Here.”

Such a sweet moment

Next, the boy walks behind his sister who’s now holding firmly onto the ball. Then with all his might, he grabs her by the waist and lifts her up so she can make the basket. If that’s not a great older brother we don’t know what is.

An unbreakable bond

This boy was able to lift her up just enough to help her achieve her goal. She focuses and pushes the ball up, watching it go through the hoop. Without the help of her brother, that wouldn’t have happened. With her success, he plants a kiss on her cheek.
