When it comes to playing the piano, some songs are easy to learn. On the other hand, some are quite challenging. But then, there are rare songs that even the best musicians aren’t brave enough to try.
Bohemian Rhapsody
This particular song falls into the third category. Written and performed by the late Freddie Mercury of Queens, it’s iconic. So, even when piano players do their best, seldom does the music sound right.

Young but incredibly talented
Well, that’s unless you’re an 11-year-old boy by the name of Cole Lam. While at the mall one day, he spotted a piano in an open area. Considering he plays, he naturally took a seat.

Oh, no he didn’t
Yes, he did. Although Cole could’ve played any one of millions of songs, he chose one of the most loved and difficult. That’s right, he decided to play Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody.

The famous notes
Right on cue, Cole played the first four notes of the song, which for people who know it, recognize Bohemian Rhapsody right away. However, no one in the mall seemed to notice. At least not in the beginning.

A few glances
As Cole got further into the song, a few people took a second to glance his way. Although a crowd hadn’t yet formed, this boy didn’t care. All he wanted to do was play one of his favorite pieces.

Things began to change
Within just a few minutes, shoppers started to pay attention. After all, here was this young boy, sitting at a gorgeous piano, playing one of the most recognized songs in the world. But he was also amazingly talented.

Something special
Soon, more people began to surround Cole, listening with interest as he played. It was as though they knew there was something special about this kid. Perhaps he’s a star in the making.

Not an ordinary day at the mall
With each chord, the number of shoppers who stopped to listen increased. Before long, Cole had an entire group focused on him rather than buying merchandise. It’s funny because he didn’t even seem to notice.

A fantastic experience
It’s not every day that you hear someone even attempt to play this song. And it’s certainly not every day when that someone is only 11. But that’s what the shoppers witnessed.

Captivating
Often, when someone plays piano in a mall, people stop for a minute and then move on. But that wasn’t the case here. Everyone who gathered around Cole stayed to the very end. They didn’t want to miss a single note.

There are a lot of complex songs but probably none like Bohemian Rhapsody. Not only is the music difficult but whether sang or played on the piano, it has deep emotion. On this day, Cole captivated a large group of strangers with his unbelievable skill, something that would’ve made Freddie Mercury proud.
Regardless if you know the song, don’t know the song, or don’t even like it, which is unimaginable, this is a performance you don’t want to miss. To see this 11-year-old boy master a Queen song, check out the video below.
