Even 7-year-olds saving their baby sister from a house fire.

In the most heroic fashion, Eli jumped into his baby sister’s room through a window to bring her to safety during a fire that destroyed their New Tazewell, Tennessee home.

Chris and Nicole Davidson had put their three children to bed by 8:30 p.m. that night.

Nicole woke up a few hours later after smelling smoke.

The house was up in flames and their 22-month-old Erin was trapped in her room.

“He grabbed the fire extinguisher trying to buy me time to get the kids, and I grabbed the boys because they were closest to the fire,” Nicole said, according to FOX News. “The scariest moment of my life was when I thought we couldn’t get her.”

I haven't posted about what has went on this week. I will forever be so grateful that my family is ok. I know it was God that woke me up.

The couple was able to get their 2-year-old Elijah and Eli, who the couple had been fostering for over a year, but Erin’s bedroom was surrounded by flames.

“The smoke and fire was so thick there was no way I could get to her,” Chris told CNN.

Eli climbed into the window, picked up his sister, and passed her off to his father out the window before climbing out.

This show of strength and bravery came at the perfect moment because the house was already consumed by flames when 20 firefighters arrived at the scene.

“I thought I couldn’t do it, but then I said, ‘I got her, dad,'” Eli told reporters. “I was scared, but I didn’t want my sister to die. It’s OK to be scared, but you’re brave inside and you can do it when you want to.”

Not only was there nothing left of their house but their three cars were also damaged.

“We lost everything that we have ever had. Our entire lives were in that home. Our three cars were also damaged in the fire,” Chris, who along with his wife is a former firefighter who has fostered 34 children and adopted two, said.

While they don’t have their home or personal belongings, they still have their lives and each other.

“I will forever be so grateful that my family is OK,” Nicole wrote.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
