But one of her customers ended up becoming her best friend. It was a 5-year-old boy, who, over the last couple of years has been confined to his house because of health concerns.

The toddler had to undergo several neurology exams, and his health condition didn’t let him enjoy his childhood like other kids his age do.

“They had to hook things up to his head, and he just had cords everywhere, so it was really frightening,” his mother, Leslie Kimbel told ABC Action News.

Unable to see his grandparents and cousins, little Brantley was too excited to see Michelle every time she had some delivery to do around the neighborhood.

“Every time he’d see her, it didn’t matter where I was, he’d see her truck come by, and he’d just scream, ‘Shell is here,’” Leslie added.

But, at the same time, Dearhart herself, feels happy to see the boy every day, and it seems they have built a special bond over time.

As Dearhart explained, seeing him just makes her day because he is “the coolest kid” she’s ever met!

The boy has become so close to the UPS driver that he even had surprise presents on her birthday.

“He answered the door with a bouquet of flowers and a bag of Godiva chocolate,” said Dearhart.

But just a while ago, it was time for Michelle to surprise the little boy on his birthday.

The woman arrived at Brantley’s home in a special delivery van with flames on the side so that it was obvious that it was not just an ordinary day.

Although Dearhart had planned everything carefully in order to surprise her 5-year-old friend, she still felt nervous about what was about to happen once he saw her.

The little boy rushed out of the house when he realized she was coming, and he fell in her arms once she was out of the van.

She gave him gifts, but, what stood out was a UPS cape and hat, which was just what the little superhero needed.

Whether this was a coincidence or not, it’s up to each one of us to decide, but on that very day, Brantley received a clean bill of health. What would have been a better gift for that brave boy?

Michelle was more than happy to be able to contribute in her own way to the celebration of his special birthday.

“I’m just so happy I got to do this. This is a birthday he’s never going to forget,” she said.

We are sure that Brantley’s parents are grateful to Dearhart for everything she has done over these past years for their son, and the boy will undoubtedly always cherish their friendship.
