Nearly 5 months after her wedding to Chandler Powell, Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, has announced that she’s pregnant with her first child.

The elated mom-to-be shared a photo on Instagram along with the caption, “Baby Wildlife Warrior due 2021”. As if that couldn’t get any cuter, the couple is standing together in the photo and they’re holding a tiny little zookeeper’s outfit.

“Chandler and I are proud to announce that we’re expecting!” the 22-year-old wildlife advocate wrote. “It’s an honour to share this special moment in our lives with you.”

Although the celebrity is still in her first trimester, she couldn’t wait to share the exciting news with her friends, family, her fans, and the world.

“We really want you to be part of our journey from the beginning of this new life chapter. We couldn’t wait to share the news as this beautiful little being has become the most important part of our lives,” she continued.

Chandler, of course, wasn’t going to stay quiet. He took to his Instagram to also share a post about the exciting announcement.

“I cannot wait to embark on this new adventure and life chapter with my gorgeous wife, @bindisueirwin.”

In March of 2020, the young couple had a gorgeous ceremony at none other than the Irwin family’s zoo.

Amazingly, their wedding occurred just hours before the Australian government banned large events, like weddings, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

“We’ve planned this beautiful day for nearly a year and had to change everything, as we didn’t have guests at our wedding,” she shared with her fans along with a photo of their wedding.

As far as becoming a new parent, Bindi is beyond thrilled. But, of course, she’s open to any and all the advice she can get.

“Please let me know your best advice and send good vibes and prayers to our little sweetheart,” she wrote at the end of her Instagram post.

Bindi Irwin has continued her father’s legacy of animal conservation and education ever since she was just 9 years old when she hosted her very own TV show called Bindi the Jungle Girl. The show was an educational wildlife documentary for kids. Although, she appeared on TV with her dad ever since she was just a toddler at 2-years-old.

According to Wikipedia, “on 20 September 2006, Irwin received a standing ovation after delivering a eulogy for her father in front of a crowd of 5,000 and a worldwide television audience of more than 300 million viewers. In the 2006 TV Week readers’ poll, her speech received 43 percent of votes and was voted the television moment of the year. Her mother stated that, apart from some assistance with typing, Irwin had written the speech herself.”

Ever since then, she has become involved in singing, dancing, acting, fitness (creating 2 fitness DVDs), and game show hosting. Bindi’s younger brother, Robert Irwin, has also stayed in the spotlight as a television personality and photographer.

We are so excited about Bindi and Chander’s brand new bundle of joy and we’re certain that the baby will have a natural-born-love of animals just like everyone else in their family!
