Imagine flying down the road on your motorcycle, eager to enjoy your break with your buddies.

Then imagine stopping for a second and seeing two little kids running on the side of the road with no adult in sight.

That’s just what happened here.

A biker and his friends were passing through Mt. Rushmore when they saw a little boy and little girl, most likely around 3-5 years old, running by the roadside.

They were just off the parking lot of Mt. Rushmore National Park in South Dakota.

And they were alone.

The bikers thought the two children might have run off from one of the RVs in the parking lot.

But when they asked the older brother where they came from, he pointed in the other direction.

A car stopped before the bikers.

Three women and one man came out and they immediately secured the children before they ran out into the road.

The children were crying, scared for sure that they can’t find their parents.

The little boy was so sweet, though.

When he saw his little sister crying, he went over to give her a hug.

One of the women and one of the bikers asked the boy if he can describe what his parents looked like or what they were wearing.

He couldn’t so they asked if he knew their names. He did.

They were Andrea and Jason.

One of his biker friends went further ahead to a walking trail to check if the children’s parents were there.

The people inside the green car were kind enough to stay behind and just look after the children while the bikers looked for the parents.

They gave the children water and sunscreen and did what they could to keep them calm and comfortable.

It was a team effort.

The three women and one of the bikers stayed behind with the children in case the parents suddenly show up.

The biker who was filming the exchange went up to the visitor center to ask if there were parents who came in looking for their children.

When the staff said there weren’t, he reported the lost children in case they do come.

It’s challenging to travel with kids.

They can wander off unexpectedly and parents have no clue where they went. Or the children can get distracted and left behind.

It’s always best to be overprepared when traveling with little children.

Always attach a tag or something similar to your children’s clothes or pockets your information so whoever finds them can easily contact you.

Teach your children as much as you can to always stick with you when you’re traveling so they don’t get lost.

If you’re outnumbered by children traveling with you, and if budget and schedule permit, invite another person you trust to help you with your children.

Thankfully, when he was going back to where they were, he passed by a trail and found that the two children had been reunited with their parents and older sister.

What a sweet reunion

And it was all thanks to the kindness of these strangers.
