This cop is an amazing human being but it's sad that no one else thought of this before he was called in.

What do you do when someone makes a scene?

Sometimes, you just want to stay out of it and get away as far as possible. You don’t want to get caught up in trouble when the situation escalates. Sometimes, we want to step in and do something, especially when we smell injustice.

Handling a difficult situation is no easy feat.

It takes a perfect combination of words and actions to either let all hell break loose or calm everything down. Sometimes, it’s a very thin line.

This police officer in Montebello, California, knew just what to do in these situations.

He went to the bank to withdraw money from his account. However, the bank’s teller didn’t allow him to do so since his ID has expired. The teller was simply following the bank’s policy.

Frustrated, the old man caused a scene.

The bank immediately called the police to handle it and take the man off the premises. The Montebello Police Department responded to the scene right away.

This is where Officer Robert Josett came in and became the hero of the day.

The bank manager explained the situation to Officer Josett. They were expecting the officer to take the man out of the bank to get his ID renewed to get his money. However, Officer Josett did more than that.

He took the man with him in his vehicle and did the most amazing thing.

The police officer drove the man himself to the Department of Motor Vehicles, accompanied and assisted him to renew his license. In just a few minutes, he got his renewed license and now has a valid ID.

He thanked the police officer for going out of his way and doing more than just his duty to help him sort things out. The man was finally able to withdraw money from his bank account.

When asked about why he did it, the police officer had one simple answer:

“It was a pretty easy decision. (It) didn’t take too much thought. I kinda set the idea of taking him to the DMV, help him get it, and my sergeant was super supportive. She jumped all over it and kinda streamlined the idea and made it go smoothly,” he said in an interview with CBS Los Angeles.
