It isn’t easy being a police officer.
There is always something unexpected happening, and cops need to rise to the occasion and for all these times.
Sergeant Jon-Erik Negron knew that in his duty, he would always need to give his all every single time.
Whether it was helping someone find valuables or trying to locate a place, he knew he had to give everything he had to serving the community.
However, this Seargent seems to have a knack for getting into emergency situations, situations involving babies.
In the past five years, this police officer has been saving babies on the brink of death.
He has already helped in saving four babies, and in the fifth year running, he once again kept a baby’s life from grave danger.
Now, he is the so-called “baby whisperer.”
On one of their Saturday morning shifts, Suffolk County officers Zachary Vormittag, Jadin Rodriguez, Conor Deimer, and Sgt. Jon-Erik Negron went about their usual routines when they received a distressed call.
Somewhere in the neighborhood, a woman was delivering her baby, who was several weeks early, in the living room of her house.
It was an emergency situation and the cops went as fast as they could to the Maldonado residence.
In there, they found the woman about to give birth and Sgt. Jon-Erik Negron was quick to help her deliver her child.
It was his fifth time helping in a baby’s emergency birth, so this somehow makes him an expert, right?
The police officer, assisted by his fellow cops, did what he had to do and was successful in keeping the mom and her baby, little Owen Anthony Maldonado, from danger.
After the emergency, the baby and his mom were given the medical attention they needed and are now safe in their home.
The police officer’s story of saving babies’ lives is inspiring.
Earning the nickname “Baby Whisperer” from his colleagues in the police department happened for a reason.
In the past five years, he has been able to save five babies from life-threatening situations.
Little Owen was the most recent baby he saved, but before him, Sgt. Jon-Erik was able to help four more babies.
One of the infants he rescued named Bryce even became his godson!
Bryce stopped breathing when his umbilical cord got tied around his neck.
The cop was there when the baby’s mom needed help.
His quick thinking and actions gave the child a fighting chance because the police brought his mother to the hospital on time for the doctors to help him survive.
The child’s parents were so happy that they made the sergeant a godfather of their little Bryce.
That was not the last time that Sgt. Jon-Erik found a baby in need of his helping hand.
In the same year that he met Bryce, he was able to save another baby from the brink of death and the parents could not be more thankful. Indeed, Sgt. Jon-Erik has proved that his hands are more than capable of saving another life.
