What kind of activities do you think a pair of seniors would do? Knitting, gardening, walking? Well, what you are going to see next will definitely change the way you think of senior citizens!
It’s so wonderful to see older people full of life, making the best of it and turning their lives just into a huge dance party.
Our story today is about a couple of seniors from Austria, meet Nellia and Dietmar Ehrentraut, a dancing duo that is going to steal your breath with their amazing Swing skills! The Austrian couple has been actively dancing for more than 40 years and they are regularly competing in dance shows throughout Europe.
At the wonderful ages of 64 and 70, Nellia and Dietmar can easily be compared to any younger dancing couples, as their thirst for dancing is nonstop! The Austrian couple doesn’t stop amazing its audience and their success is remarkable.
They have repeatedly won the top spots in both Austrian and German championships, with the performances being just fabulous, full of energy and acrobatic tricks on the stage.
In the video, you will see them dressed in their vintage clothes, ready to show to their audience how real pros boogie-woogie. One surprising fact about this dance is that it really requires you to be quite flexible and move your hips a lot, which you would think impossible for the Ehrentrauts due to their age.
The duo starts dancing and the audience is immediately animated by their performance! You can hear their clapping and their cheers throughout the routine. Their video went viral with more than 10 million viewers on YouTube, praising and congratulating them.

“I actually WEPT…..for the JOY of seeing this! One of the most beautiful things I have ever seen!”, said another one.
And, what is truly incredible, is not only this passionate duo has managed to question any stereotype there is out there about senior citizens, but with their dancing managed to turn a simple dance performance into something that could be easily compared to a Rock concert!
The adorable couple has traveled across the globe, participating in competitions and showcasing their skills, with Nellia confessing that her favorite one was their trip to the U.S. There they had the opportunity to meet with other Rock n’ Roll lovers and other famous dancers that inspired them in their Boogie Woogie dance career.
These two don’t let their age hold them back from doing what they love and in the process inspiring the rest of us to go out there and dare to chase our dreams and turn them into a reality. Hopefully, they will have many more years to spend, dancing together. Let’s wish them all the best for their future competitions!
