Pranks are something that lots of families have in their entertainment list. Family members often like to play jokes on each other, sometimes those jokes bringing them closer and sometimes ending up in major fights- especially among siblings!

But, generally, joking around with your kids can prove beneficial for them in the future, as it has been found that humor enhances a child’s imagination and creativity, while it helps reduce stress and ease social interactions.

One of those families that enjoy playing jokes on each other is the Staffieri family from Magnolia, Delaware.

While the family has found a way to bond through practical jokes they play on one another, the most recent one involved an extra character that nobody had imagined: an Amazon delivery driver.

A few weeks ago, Lynn Deborah Staffieri was not at home, when she received a notification from her Nest doorbell, a service that provides video-capture for home-monitoring and security.

In the video, she could see the Amazon driver leaving her order in front of their door and running away. At that moment, sound was not available so Staffieri had no idea what was going on and the whole thing seemed rather weird to her.

Indeed, Staffieri had ordered playpens for a few kittens she had been fostering from a local rescue, but the whole delivery stunt didn’t make any sense at that time.

“I saw the Amazon lady running away from the door and I thought ‘Oh, that’s weird,'” Staffieri said. “I didn’t have the audio at first when I saw it so I didn’t know what was going on.”

When she got home, and saw the footage with the sound on, she realized the Amazon woman shouted “abracadabra” before running back to the van. A few moments later, she knew her son Jacob was behind the prank.

As Staffieri explained with a Facebook post, her son had written some “special instructions” for the delivery driver, and these included shouting “abracadabra” and running away as fast as they can.

By the time their order arrived home, even Jacob had almost forgotten about his prank, but then he remembered, explained it to his family and they all had a good laugh together.

As Staffieri admits, she wouldn’t have expected the driver to pay such close attention to the instructions, adding that during this time she understands they must have been really busy so a silly prank would understandably not be something they would be up to joining in.

“It made us smile even though my son should not have done that so I apologize for that. I do appreciate that the driver looked closely enough at the instructions though because I know a lot of people wouldn’t,” Staffieri wrote in a post.

Since that day, Staffieri has asked her Facebook friends to share the video in order to, hopefully, track down that woman and thank her for being so attentive to the customers’ needs.

“I would love for her to see and say thank you,” she said. “Part of me thinks we’ve been stuck inside for so long and needed something to make us laugh.”

We hope that they manage to find the driver and thank her properly.
