As much as some people would love to continuously sip from the fountain of youth, the reality is we all get older. Luckily though, even if bodies change, and lives change – it doesn’t mean that your inner-spirit has to fizzle.
Mary is a widow from Florida who had her 80th birthday just around the corner. But if you think she looks like the typical quiet type, think again! In her younger years, Mary was an activist and the type of woman who stood up for her beliefs.
It was time to get that old Mary back.
When you’re not feeling good on the outside, it can affect how you feel on the inside. Poor Mary had lost some of her self-confidence over the years and wished to get a boost. What she needed was a complete makeover to reignite her fire, so she booked an appointment with Christopher Hopkins (aka The Makeover Guy)!
She wanted her future days to be bright.
In the video, Mary shares that she’d only recently lost her husband and that she “missed him every day.” Going on without your love sounds like it would be terribly painful. Mary was aware, however, that she also had a long road ahead.
“I plan to be around for a while, so I want to have a good life.”

A lot of times people walk into a salon knowing exactly what they want. Mary knew though that she was in good hands with The Makeover Guy, and she was happy letting him make the decisions. She shared:

After spending the day with Christopher and his team, the (almost) 80-year-old finally had the chance to see her completed look. And oh boy, does she look amazing!
On top of appearing more vibrant and elegant, her entire attitude seems to have changed as well. She actually feels like her young self again.
“I saw me for the first time in a long time. I saw me, the young me, the me that was adventurous and fought for things I believed in.”
Look out world, because here comes Mary!
Christopher shared the following on YouTube:
“Mary marched on Washington with Martin Luther King, she was an avid women’s rights activist, and has lived an active life that was being snuffed out. We can see who she really is in her after, and hope it kicks her in the ass to get it back together per her request.”
There’s no question this girl really is on fire. She so cutely says:
“I’m like 21 again and kick ass again!”
