Moms are undeniably awesome.
From the moment a child is born until their last day, a mother will never stop caring for their offspring. There’s nothing she can’t do–except maybe learning how to send text messages…
It seems like everyone has a hilarious “Text from Mom” story. Whether it was her first time getting a smartphone, an autocorrect fail, or mom just being mom, the text messages are comical.
Keeping reading for 55 of the best texts moms have ever sent.
I bet this son or daughter was impressed by mom’s hilarious clapback with this text. Clearly, this mom
does have a sense of humor–and we absolutely love it.
Oh, moms. So adorable and so not with the times. This sweet mom thought that ‘LOL’ meant ‘lots of love.’ Unfortunately for her, the LOL was terribly inappropriate in this context.
I think more moms need to take a hint from this mom. Talk about great motivation to get the room clean. Was there really a $100 bill hiding somewhere? We’ll never know. But, at least the room is clean!
We can all be forgetful sometimes, but this mom? Well, looks like she forgot her child at Walmart. Her non-chalant response about it is too funny.
5.)That’s not what that means…at all.
This mom’s innocence is just too pure. We absolutely love the fact that she thought WTF meant ‘well, that’s fantastic.’ Did she really think younger kids were just going around saying that to each other?
6.) Yes, the ‘cat’ wants to know
Someone got busted! This mom’s approach to confronting their kid (who is hopefully grown up…) about condoms is hysterical. Hey, at least they’re being safe!
What started off as a simple question turned into a burn from Mom in about 0.02 seconds. Did she ask the question in hopes that she’d be able to respond with this? No matter the reason–it’s hilarious.
When this mom asked what the latest text lingo meant, she didn’t seem to realize that she received the answer. Instead, she thought her son or daughter was simply responding with “I don’t know. Love you, talk to you later.”
Mom claims that this was an autocorrect error but we really don’t know why it would correct apple to–*ahem*–the other word. At least her family got a good laugh from it.
It seems like this mom might have just wanted to make sure someone knew that she was exercising that day. Even though this son or daughter had no plans of texting her…she wanted to be sure she told them not to.
Okay, this kid might be scarred for life after this incident but it sure gave us a good chuckle! We hope that this son or daughter was able to laugh it off because now they have a great story to tell.
This mom thought she’d send her child a ‘good morning’ text…with a mean twist. And although it might be a bit cruel, you have to admit–it’s pretty darn funny.
First off, why are you looking that up, Mom? Second, do you really think Dad would be offended by this? I think we all know that Mom and Johnny Depp don’t have a ‘thing’ going on.
This funny mom can’t quite seem to figure out how the camera works or how to send proper photos. Even though her son or daughter tries their best to explain, she can’t quite get it. So–they eventually just gave up.
15.) Think about it, mom.
Alright, this mom’s obliviousness is almost charming. It’s adorable that she reached out via text about her concern in the first place. And secondly, the fact that she doesn’t understand her phone is working is just comical.
This mom seems awesome. She thought the heart text symbol was an ice cream cone, and let’s be honest, she’s not wrong. The fact that she’s asking if they want ice cream forgives any text mishaps she might have.
For moms that aren’t super savvy when it comes to phones and text messaging, it’s so easy to mess with them. This person decided to change the text shortcut for a word and the ensuing messages are too funny.
18.) A little creepy…but sweet.
Why do moms feel the overwhelming urge to play matchmaker for their single son or daughter? This mom might be close to breaking some laws with her cupid technique.
19.) She gets an ‘A’ for effort
This exchange is pretty darn adorable. We’ve got to hand it to this mom for trying to be ‘hip with the times’ by texting their son or daughter–even if they’re only a few feet away. By the way, what’s for dinner?
20.) It’s enough to make you go crazy
Oh, good Lord! This mom needs to take a couple doses of chill pills. Someone needs to teach her about cellphone and texting etiquette. This is just a bit over the top.
It took her a while to figure it out but eventually this mom finally found the elusive space bar. Thank goodness, otherwise, their kids would have to decipher every message she sent.
22.) Some more ‘WTF’ confusion
Here’s another charmingly innocent mom that thought ‘WTF’ stood for something much, much different than it really does. Again–her logic was spot on, though.
Thanks for sending this sweet pic of the family, Mom! But…what the heck does Moonocababa mean? We know this isn’t an autocorrect, so it must be some sort of inside joke that this sibling is left out of.
24.) Calm down there, Mom
This mom jumped to some serious conclusions when she saw a plastic bag hanging out of her kid’s backpack. Were drugs really the first thing she thought would be in there? Sheesh.
To be fair, this person should have showed a little more concern for their sisters that had terrible days. And pot roast? That’s worth a phone call to see if you could come over and join. Either way–call your mom!
26.) She found the emojis
Mom doesn’t seemed to understand that are emojis are used to help convey whatever you’re trying to say. Not just to use willy nilly like this! Once she found the emojis, she went absolutely nuts.
27.) So many things wrong here
Not only did this mom (jokingly) tell their son or daughter they’re divorcing their father (LOL), but then they have to go and tell them something they most
definitely didn’t want to hear. Of course, on accident thanks to autocorrect.
28.) This could take a while
This mom has clearly figured out how to text, now she needs to figure out how to Google. How could one possibly explain all the rules of Solitaire via text? We’re not sure what this mom was expecting.
Here’s another mom that found the emojis and went a little bit too crazy with them. At least she’s having fun and at least we now get to see the texts and laugh at them. Thanks for the entertainment, mom!
30.) What do you mean ‘why’?!
What on God’s green earth is happening here? This mom asked the same question and received the same answer three times and she still kept asking. What the heck was she wanting from this person?
31.) Why commas are important
This conversation between mom and son or daughter is super sweet. Despite the fact that mom left out a very crucial comma, it’s nice to know that they love and are thinking about each other.
32.) That’s a ‘no’ all around
After this series of texts, we can’t help but belly laugh at all of the typos. But, really–the more concerning issue here is why there is poo in the shower at all? And unless there’s a dog or a toddler in the house, this is very disturbing.
33.) I think you’d know if I did
We’re not sure what mom thinks “Google” is, but apparently she thinks that her kid runs the entire thing. That’s a sweet thought, Mom–but, you’d probably know if your kid ran one of the most successful companies in the world.
34.) Another lost spacebar
This mom is going to need a little more practice when it comes to using and texting on her smartphone. First things first–show her where the spacebar is.
35.) The naivity is strong with this one
This gullible mom sensed that maybe their son or daughter was purchasing something a little-less-than-legal. However, their child was quickly able to trick them into thinking otherwise
and got money out of the deal.
After this hilarious text exchange, there’s one thing for sure–this mom and their family love their son. Even though it’s not exactly what their son wanted to hear, it was worth screenshotting to share with the internet.
37.) Keep practicing, Mom
It’s exciting and fun that mom wants to figure out how hashtags work. It could really come in handy for home decorating and recipe tips, but…it looks like she’s going to need a few more tips and pieces of advice on how to do it.
38.) She found the voice text option
It’s nice that mom is trying to do some hands-free texting. That’s always a good, safe thing to know. But she doesn’t seem to realize that you can just talk normally and the phone will figure it out. It sure is funny though!
Sure, moms can be annoying sometimes and they can nag you to do things you don’t want to do, but come on, it’s their jobs! So, stop ignoring your moms texts! If you do, they might just consider that car.
This person might be in trouble and grounded but at least their mom had a sense of humor about it. A very mom-like sense of humor, but humor nonetheless! Now, what we really want to see is this mom do a freestyle of this song on video.
The best part of this hilarious text exchange with autocorrect mishap is the fact that mom moved on so casually. We also love that this mom has to give rules along with the lunch that they’ve packed. Such a mom.
YOLO, text slang for “you only live once,” is usually reserved as an excuse for the millenials and youngsters of today that want to do something idiotic and crazy. This mom used it not knowing what it was and it actually worked out.
Sure…an ‘alien smiley face’ is what it looks like. I think it’s best that this son or daughter just go ahead and let mom think that’s what it is. Because trying to explain it to her any further will be a lot more awkward.
Apparently, “I cabby found Muir gladness giver. Canny text nose.” translates to “I found my glasses!” We’re not going to ask questions, we’ll just be happy for mom that she can see again.
45.) Oh, how silly of me not to know that
In case you didn’t know–people who wear bowties don’t do anything stupid, apparently. Except for wear bowties (I kid, I kid). We just love when moms use emojis and emoticons for things that only she would know or think of.
46.) Mom burn at its finest
This mom had the perfect response to her son’s cocky response about a woman belonging in the kitchen. What’s even better is that they were left completely speechless. Don’t mess with moms, they’ve been on this earth much longer than you have.
Here’s another time when explaining what acronyms meant ended up being taken way too literally at that moment. This mom didn’t seem to catch on to the fact that BRB means “be right back” and thought they were telling them that they’d be right back. Classic mix up.
48.) That doesn’t really work here
I mean…this mom didn’t exactly use YOLO incorrectly. More like really inappropriately. This is one context where you wouldn’t want to say “you only live once”–that’s for sure.
Someone needs to give this mom a crash course on smartphones, apps, and the difference between each app. There is so much confusion happening in this text it’s hard to wrap your head around it.
Parent jokes are always a little cringe-worthy, but you have to admit–they’re pretty funny. Even though you don’t want to laugh, it’s hard not to. This mom’s ‘crackalaking’ joke is pretty spot on and we applaud her for that.
It looks like mom’s phone is stuck on using the alternate letters while she’s texting. Maybe a button’s stuck? Maybe the settings are messed up? Just glad she has her son or daughter to go and help her.
52.) At least she knows what Twilight is?
This mom might have been worried sick but at least she’s still got a sense of humor about it. And if there’s any way to relate or get through to a millenial–it’s Twilight. We don’t know whether their son or daughter was impressed or annoyed, but we love it.
To be fair, her kid didn’t phrase the question properly at all. So, like a typical mom, she took things literally and answered his question. Her nonchalant response to the actual question is so perfectly ‘mom’ too.
It’s absolutely adorable that this mom is trying to find a partner for her daughter, but it seems like she’s really taking it a step too far. Especially with her track record. The matchmaking should have stopped after the first connect was a murderer.
55.) Oh, THAT kind of culture
At first, this person thought their mom was suggesting they go to more museums, try new foods, and travel more. But, what she really meant was to eat more yogurt. Adorable and hilarious all at the same time.
Oh, moms. You gotta love ’em! These texts prove just how clever, witty, and just plain adorable they really are. Thanks to all the moms out there for being so awesome…and laughable.
