Have you ever seen someone do something that made you do a double-take? Like, you wonder how no one has slapped them by now?
How about a moment when something happened to you that is so unlucky that you just want to crawl back in bed because the universe is clearly not on your side?
If not, you’re lucky! But here are 55 face-palm moments that other people had to experience:
When this car owner asked to have his vehicle thoroughly cleaned inside and out, this wasn’t exactly what he had in mind. The next time, he might want to be more specific or go to a different carwash.
2. Side-by-side annoyance
Come on, can’t one of those drivers speed up or slow down so the long line of cars behind them can get to their destinations on time? It feels like some kind of conspiracy.
There’s always that one person who wants to ruin it for everyone. Thanks a lot. Now to press the button, you first have to bypass this nasty piece of gum.
Well, there are three possible answers. First, it’s the pencil sharpener’s fault. Second, the pencils are faulty. And third, you just haven’t figured out the right way to sharpen them.

It’s bad enough to have someone tailgating you. But to have them turn on their bright headlights at the same time? That person’s just being a big jerk.
7. Was this an accident or intentional?
We kind of feel like it might be the latter. Especially for people with OCD, finding this on the train platform would lead to more than just a facepalm.
Resetting a password shouldn’t be this difficult. You try every one you use and none work. Then you try to select a new one and you’re informed it’s one you’ve already used. What do you want to bet someone on the other end is enjoying this little game?
Ah, a hollowed-out plastic Santa boot filled with chocolate candy. But then you discover this. What a rip-off. Bad Santa.
10. This is what you call lazy
Seriously? There are shopping cart stalls everywhere and it would only take like 10 seconds to put one back. But no, people would much rather be lazy and inconvenience others.
11. You can’t make this stuff up
You find a bag of thumbprint jam cookies and they look so yummy. That is until you take them out of the package. The company will probably blame it on a machine malfunction.
12. Driveway…what driveway?
After a long day at work, all you want to do is go home where you can relax. But you first have to figure out how to get your car in the driveway considering someone decided this was a perfect place to park.
13. It happens all the time
If you purchased 10 three-ring binders, there’s a good chance that nine of them would do this. Why can’t manufacturers get it right? Is it really that hard?
Nothing goes better with pizza than a side order of breadsticks. Or in this case, bread tubes. This deserves a big facepalm. Nothing like chewing on a big bite of air.
15. Clean hands in 20 minutes
Don’t you just love technology? You know, like bathroom faucets that are supposed to turn on automatically when they detect you washing your hands? This would be a great time for a facepalm but for the next 20 minutes, you’ll have soapy hands.
Although Google Maps tells you it’s okay to make a U-turn at the light, the city’s sign says otherwise. If we were you, we’d go with the sign. You could go with Google and if you get a ticket, send it to them.
Here’s the deal. This doesn’t just happen with cheap clothes. Even top brands have this problem. Since it occurs so often, and usually at the most inopportune time, this deserves a big facepalm.
No…we’re not talking about MC Hammer but an actual hammer to make the piece of the puzzle fit. Unfortunately, this happens…a lot.
19. How about a little consideration?
Why do people do this? Don’t they know that a paper towel and five seconds of their time would correct the problem so the next person doesn’t have to deal with this?
20. Should’ve read the instructions
Have you ever watched your significant other do something that you knew was wrong but you bit you tongue? Yeah, perhaps this person should’ve said something like, “Honey, did you read the instructions first?”
For 15 miles, these trucks refused to move over so vehicles behind them could pass. We’re pretty sure the cars following them were making hand gestures that didn’t look anything like facepalms.
All those people who had to stand because this guy decided to take up four seats to nap should’ve just plopped down on him. That would’ve woken him up real fast.
When driving into the sun, car visors come in handy. Except for this guy. That tiny hole let in sunlight that matched up perfectly to his eyes. Perhaps the designer should go back to the drawing board.
We have one question about this…which came first, the light switch or the stair rails? It doesn’t really matter because either way, this was really poor planning.
25. What was she thinking?
This was the back seat on a plane that had been colored by a toddler. But here’s the crazy part. In the video, you see the mother directing her son’s hand, showing him how to do it? Unfathomable.
This deserves an embarrassing facepalm. After leaning against a door, a guy starts to walk away only to discover his belt loop got caught on the handle. Hopefully, he played it off so everyone laughed.
If this is how you wake up in the morning, you either need different blinds or make sure they’re completely closed before you go to bed. This isn’t a good way to start the day.
28. Where’s the consistency?
So, this person purchased three Sharpie markers in the same color of purple. But as you can see, they’re all quite different. What in the heck happened here?
The wrap on the top is how it was advertised. The one on the bottom is what the customer received. Let’s hope he likes a little bit of ham and lettuce with his tortilla…and we mean little.
30. Someone needs glasses
To whoever parked this car…you might want to have your eyes checked. In case you didn’t notice, that’s a sidewalk. Actually, there’s not even a parking space there.
There’s no reason for anyone to do this. Okay, we might understand if this car was a Rolls Royce but for this person, yeah, they can’t justify making this selfish decision.
Mothers around the world can relate to this. You get a nice dirty clothes hamper for your teenagers to use and this is how they repay you. Welcome to parenting.
Dirty clothes are bad enough but when you visit a gym where adults work out and find something like this, it’s unbelievable. What’s wrong with people?
34. A little soda with your ice?
Doesn’t this drive you crazy? Even if you ask for a small amount of ice with your soda, this is probably what you’ll get. In other words, you’re paying for frozen water…not a beverage.
When you’re handed an ice cream cone, it looks like you’re getting a whole lot. But if you look at it from above, you’ll see you’ve been cheated. This deserves a facepalm.
Can you imagine creating a Lego masterpiece and having it for 10 years? That’s what this person did. Until they dropped it down the stairs. Bummer.
When companies put stickers on car windshields why can’t they use some type of glue that’s easy to get off. But no, they prefer to make it as difficult as possible.
You go into a bathroom stall in some public place only to find the lock doesn’t work. Somehow, holding your foot against the door to keep it closed doesn’t seem right.
39. “Can you hear me now?”
This is the kind of person you just want to shake. Apparently, they don’t realize they don’t have to hold their phone this way to talk to someone.
40. That seems a bit excessive
You know new jeans always have tags. But this many on just two pairs? Someone went a little bit overboard.
That wasn’t the original plan. This person put $20 in a soda machine to get a bottle of water. But instead of getting green back, they received all quarters. Now, a car wash seems to be the next step.
…twice. The first time is when the keys got tangled up. The second is when this person tried to untangle them. There’s no question this got a facepalm.
43. Enough to drive you crazy
Have you ever been in a public place only to sit by someone who insists on playing video games on their phone…with the volume up as loud as it’ll go? Yeah, that’s what this person did. Haven’t they ever heard of earphones?
Everyone thought the new seal on juice cartons was a good idea. And they were but only for people who can open them. Unfortunately, they’re impossible for some.
45. Is it really that hard?
This has facepalm written all over it. Let’s go over this again. The “P” is for pepper and the “S” for salt. Okay, everyone, let’s say it together.
Instead of using bread, this restaurant wraps sandwiches in cooked egg. On the inside, well, we can make out bacon and tomato but that other stuff, your guess is as good as ours. We’ll pass.
This individual followed the instructions just as indicated. But they didn’t work. Step two, tear the top off. But that didn’t work either.
After a long day at work, you decide to order pizza for dinner. Everyone’s ready to eat until you open the box to find this. It’s time to find a different pizza joint.
And it’ll probably happen again and again. It doesn’t matter where you order food or the kind of sauce you choose to go along with it. This is usually the outcome.
50. A little something extra
This person was super excited to buy a new pair of Adidas. What they didn’t expect was the discomfort that soon followed. This doesn’t seem like a very good design.
If that’s not the right answer, we’d like to see what is? Moving onto the next question probably won’t make any difference. How frustrating.
Are people really this nasty? If they’ll do this at a movie theater, you can only imagine what their home looks like. This is unexplainable and unacceptable.
53. There’s something worse
This is bad enough, especially when you’ve been craving a particular type of chip all day. But even worse? When it’s the only one left in the vending machine and this happens because that means there’s zero chance of getting the bag to fall.
54. Something’s out of place
What are people who do this thinking? Surely, there’s a trash can at the exit of the store. Thankfully, it wasn’t a gallon of ice cream they decided not to buy.
Here’s a prime example of why everyone should put their carts in the stalls. They need to stop thinking just about themselves and consider others. Facepalm on a mega scale.
