We currently live in a very fragile society. In place of hatred and chaos, people wish we could all get along. Throughout history, animals have taught humans many valuable lessons. It’s all about acceptance, loving unconditionally, never judging, and making friends even when differences exist, as shown in these photos.
1. They love to cuddle
This beautiful dog is a stray. But Petsy, a pelican that locals say likes to hang around the dock, didn’t want him to feel alone. So, they became fast friends.
2. A turtle and his pet cat…
…or perhaps it’s the other way around. Regardless, this is a strange pair. But to these two friends, it’s all very normal.
3. Opposites attract
An African elephant and a black Labrador are on opposite ends of the spectrum in the animal kingdom. But these two friends don’t care. As a bonus, the elephant makes an excellent diving board.
4. Pure admiration
Although it’s not uncommon for dogs and cats to bond, these two seem to have an extraordinary friendship. Just look at those faces. Not only do they love each other but they also share admiration.
5. Best hugs ever
Check out the smile on that pup’s face. His friend gives amazing hugs. They obviously have each other’s backs and we love it.
6. Once upon a time…
…in a land far away, a magpie and a dog became best friends. And they lived happily ever after. That’s their story and they’re sticking to it. This isn’t a fairytale but their real life.
7. Glued to the hip
This cat and deer have a solid connection. We don’t know if the deer is wild or possibly one raised by the kitty’s owner. But either way, they connected immediately and don’t leave each other’s side.
8. Welcome home
When bringing a puppy into a home with an existing cat, you never know what’s going to happen. After a few sniffs, this family found out. The kitty loved his new friend.
9. BFFs
When we say BFFs (Best Friends Forever), we mean it. From the minute this cheetah and dog met, they became inseparable. Even as adults, they still can’t get enough of each other.
10. Be still my heart
It only took about 15 seconds after meeting for this Golden Retriever to claim the little pig as hers. While there’s a significant size difference, they don’t care. All they want is lots of play and cuddle time.
11. Rolled in a ball
If this isn’t the epitome of a great cuddle, we don’t know what is. In case you can’t tell, that’s an owl and kitten. Instead of being natural enemies, these two quickly bonded.
12. Awesome friend and protector
If a guinea has any concerns about being bullied, all it has to do is make friends with a German Shepherd. This sweet little animal has a protector, friend, and fluffy blanket wrapped into one. That’s pretty cool.
13. “I have your back”
True friends are there for each other through the good times and the bad times. One example…having surgery. This photo just goes to show how close these two pups are.
14. Super gentle
We love this particular photo for two reasons. First, this dog might be big but he’s so gentle with this little chick. Second, it helps to put the stigma of the Pit Bull breed to rest.
15. Oh, so close
It’s a good thing giraffes have long necks. Otherwise, this little fellow would have a tough time reaching his best friend. This is what’s known as “cuteness overload.”
16. Farm buddies
Often, farm animals make friends with each other. Case in point…this horse and barn cat. It looks as though they’ve developed a special connection.
17. Making it all better
Here’s another example of an animal providing comfort to a friend. To the dog, the cone is annoying. To the cat, it’s a perfect size for snuggling.
18. Unique friends
These two have a unique friendship due to their disabilities. You see, the pigeon can’t fly and the Chihuahua can’t walk. What a beautiful duo.
19. Same…yet different
Okay, these are both dogs. And they met at doggie daycare. But it seems as though their mismatched eyes are what brought them together as friends.
20. A perfect pillow
When awake, these animals love to chase each other around. But when it’s time to nap, the ostrich has no problem serving as a comfy pillow. What a fantastic duo.
21. Cuddle bugs
Just look at how close these two are. And they’re both so beautiful. They’re babies now but hopefully, they remain best friends as they age.
22. Proclamation
It looks like this duckling isn’t shy about telling the world the Rottweiler is her best friend. She’s going to shout it from the mountaintop. And the pup…he’s okay with that.
23. Picture perfect
This photo of a horse and Husky is so perfect, it could grace the cover of a magazine. But in real life, they’re just two friends who enjoy each other’s company. Simply amazing.
24. True love
It’s amazing how many people confuse goats and sheep. After all, they don’t look anything alike. But as far as any differences, they set them aside to enjoy a beautiful connection.
25. Sworn friends…
…that’s what this mouse and cat are as opposed to sworn enemies. Usually, a cat will chase a mouse. But not in this case. They prefer to be pals.
26. Fox and the hound
No…not the movie. Instead, it’s a fox and a hound that started a friendship from the second they met. Their favorite pastime…snuggling.
27. Astonishing
Unless you saw this photo, you’d probably never believe it. Here, you have a gray wolf and a brown bear. Wow…that’s an impressive friendship.
28. Closer, please
This sweet owl is right where it wants to be. Cuddled up close to his German Shepherd friend. This might be an unusual friendship but it works.
29. “Can we adopt him”
We have no clue where this baby goat came from. But as far as the Corgi’s concerned, the family should keep him. After all, this pup needs a new friend.
30. OMG
Can a photo get any cuter than this? We don’t think so. Yes, they’re both Alpacas but they’re not related. So, best friends it is.
31. This is how you do it
Most dogs love to hike. And some cats do too. But when this kitty gets tired, her best friend lends a helping hand (paw).
32. Tickle time
This fox and cat adore each other. When they’re not napping, they’re goofing off. Such a sweet bond.
33. Squeezing tight
No, this raccoon isn’t attacking the dog. He’s just holding on to his best friend. And the dog, she can’t get enough.
34. Blossoming friendship
These two adorable pups recently met. They discovered they have a lot in common. That includes chewing sticks and hamming it up for the camera.
35. A little to the right
What’s better than one friend? Two, of course. It’s especially nice when you need a good back scratch.
36. You don’t see that every day
Here you have a large German Shepherd taking a leisurely stroll with his best friend, the crow. The dog’s owner says they do everything together. Unusual but fantastic.
37. Friendly kisses
Some friends hug and others kiss. In this case, the two horses and a dog that enjoy kisses. What a great way to start the day.
38. No more worries
You never know how an existing cat will react to bringing a kitten home. This wasn’t what the owner expected. Immediately, the large cat adopted the little one as her own.
39. The “click”
And no one better try breaking them up. For whatever reason, this cat and rhinos were captivated after meeting. Who cares they’re different? They share a beautiful friendship.
40. Beyond precious
Seldom do you see a cat and turtle snuggle. After all, turtles aren’t necessarily the softest and cuddliest creatures. But this kitty loves her friend just the way he is.
41. There’s no denying it
These two have something special going on. Often, the dog gives his goose friend hugs. But when he’s napping, the goose loves to groom him. Friendships are all about “give and take.”
42. Best spot in the house
This lizard, commonly called the “horny toad” due to its spiked horns, found an excellent place to sleep. It’s soft and warm. This might be one of the strangest yet coolest friendships ever.
43. Friends share
This tennis ball is the dog’s favorite toy in the world. It’s the one thing he covets the most. But for his special friend, he’ll gladly share.
44. Kitty had a little lamb
No, this sweet lamb doesn’t have fleece as white as snow. But he does follow the kitty wherever she goes. They have an unbreakable bond.
45. All in a day of friendship
The only thing missing in this photo is a bear. This lion and tiger cub don’t spend any time apart. If one runs off to play, takes a nap, or eats, the other one does the same. They’re super close.
46. Now, that’s a friend
The kitty on the right had to go to the vet. As you can imagine, the poor thing was scared. But thankfully, he had a trusted friend by his side to lend comfort and support.
47. Best playmate
People who’ve never had horses don’t realize just how much these animals love to play. Put a big ball in their arena and they’ll have a blast for hours. But with a furry friend like this, who needs a ball.
48. They get it
The reason why people and animals become friends is they get each other. For these two, they perfectly understood what the other was feeling. After all, they were both rescued as strays. Now, they’ll share a home together for the rest of their lives.
49. Safe and secure
With a true friend, you always feel safe and secure. Considering the cat is larger than the puppy, you’d think it would be the protector. But it appears to be the other way around.
50. Sanctuary life
This goose and goat live at a wonderful farm sanctuary. Although they could’ve become friends with animals of the same species, they were attracted to each other. The people who run the place say they’re always side-by-side.
