Working in the restaurant industry isn’t always easy, especially when you have difficult customers to deal with.
Some customers defy mask rules. Some customers complain about the food and refuse to tip. Some customers even do both of these things.
Years of hearing “the customer is always right” in every situation has given these diners way too much power. As far as we’re concerned, these are 40 individuals who should definitely be banned from eating out.
This “poor college student” didn’t leave a tip. She thought that it would be okay not to leave a tip simply because she is in college. What she didn’t realize is that many servers are actually poor college students as well.
A group of kids at this restaurant pumped out all of the condiments into giant puddles on the counter. Meanwhile, the parents just stood by and watched. Their idea of supervision was just smiling and doing nothing.
Four pennies was all this customer left for the server. If they wanted to stiff, they should have just left zero. Leaving four pennies with an aggressive note like this is so rude.
This customer decided to let the restaurant know that they had Covid-19… after the fact. They wrote the unnerving message on the back of their receipt after they were finished dining.
Here is a really creative way to stiff somebody. Just draw a little shrugging emoji. The pizza delivery driver will get the message loud and clear.
This diner refused to tip because of the server’s sexual orientation. It makes us angry just thinking about it. People like this should stay home and cook for themselves instead.
The server thought that he hit the jackpot at first. Then he looked a little bit closer. It turns out, the hundred-dollar bill was just a coupon for a free half-hour consultation at a law office.
This Grubhub driver received a text from his customer concerning the order that was placed. The driver tried to help the customer out and save them some money. However, the customer didn’t understand…
Imagine the ego on this guy. He thought that giving his waitress his number was better than giving her a tip. Do you think that he managed to get the date?
The server gave this customer back 20 cents extra in change since it’s store policy to round up in the customer’s favor. The customer didn’t realize it. She thought that she was getting scammed!
Putting the tip at the bottom of the water glass sounds pretty funny, in theory. In reality, it’s just plain gross. No server wants to stick their hands into a customer’s dirty drink.
In case you missed it, there is a dirty diaper in the middle of this table. Instead of going to the bathroom to take care of their infant, the customer thought that it would be okay to leave it there.
Despite what some customers might think, a drawing of a heart is not a tip. It’s something that shouldn’t have to be explained. However, here we are…
People who want to make a giant mess at the table like this shouldn’t go out to eat. It was a party of ten. Their table looked like a disaster zone afterward and they didn’t even tip.
The check was close to three hundred dollars. However, these customers only left two cents. In a way, tipping two cents is even more insulting than tipping zero.
People often don’t have the guts to complain to a server’s face. However, they have no problem leaving a rude note on the check. “Try a different job,” the message reads.
At this table, a customer left a Michael’s coupon instead of a tip. It’s better than nothing, but not much better. What was the person thinking?
The restaurant set the rule to try and stay afloat during the pandemic. With limited occupancy, what else were they supposed to do? Just let people hang out there and take up their limited table space all day?
It’s not the kindest message to write on the back of a check. That’s for sure! It got the point across though.
The server wouldn’t let this underage person drink. The server was being responsible and abiding by the law. However, the customer didn’t care.
This one doesn’t even make sense. Did the customer think this would be a good way to score a date? It defies all logic and reason.
Here we have a double whammy. It’s clearly sexual harassment. Plus, they didn’t tip either.
Somehow, we feel like leaving this card as a tip isn’t going to be very effective at converting people to their religion. Where is all of the kindness and generosity?
Here we have more underage kids who came in and tried to order alcoholic drinks. They got denied. Then they were really upset about it.
No military discount means no tip. That’s what this diner decided. As a veteran, he’s already paid all of his dues.
As far as fake tips go, this is one of the most frustrating. If someone is going to leave a joke tip, they should definitely leave an additional real tip underneath it as well.
First, the diner called the restaurant from his table with his cellphone to ask them to rush his order. When that didn’t work, he decided to take matters into his own hands. He discounted his own bill.
Here we have a different diner who told their server about their Covid positive status after the fact. Once you’re done dining, we’d say that it is already a little too late for that…
Instead of giving a normal tip, this customer left some different tips at the table. There were a bunch of them.
These parents let their kids crawl all over the floor of the restaurant. It was quite the scene. If our kids did that, we would be so embarrassed…
This donut shop had people stealing their tip jar. It got so bad that they had to write a message on the jar with a Sharpie to discourage the criminals.
There is a “no shirt, no shoes, no service” rule, but clearly, this guy never got the memo. He isn’t even trying to hide his bare feet. He’s being so blatant about it.
The stiff wasn’t enough for this customer. They decided to leave a detailed explanation about why they didn’t tip. Plus, there were even more reasons written on the back.
Here we have a woman trying to secretly smoke a cigarette in a Mexican restaurant. It’s a no-smoking restaurant. She thought that no one would notice.
The server received a phone number on the check, but the tip was lacking a little. She decided to message the guy and inquire about it. He didn’t know what to say.
Whenever the customer asks to borrow your car, you know you’re dealing with a crazy person. Who would ever think this is a reasonable request? It’s only for a few minutes, they said…
Needy tables are the worst. It’s okay to ask for a refill or some extra dipping sauce. However, there is only so much free sauce that a server can comp without getting in trouble.
Using an umbrella when it rains is a good tip. Although, it’s not the kind of tip that this server expected. It’s also not the kind that she wanted either.
Having to fill out a receipt with a marker isn’t ideal. However, it’s not worth getting angry about. This customer had a bit of an overreaction.
Some people really don’t like the mask rules. It’s not the servers’ fault. However, they often get blamed for the rules anyway.
