We all make mistakes and have those moments when our brains just don’t work quite right. We might even know something perfectly well, but end up saying something…well, kind of dumb instead.
That’s definitely what happened to these 40 folks. At least we hope so.
Their math mess-ups were so bad that we had to wonder if they just skipped all of their math classes or were having one of those moments.
But we’re going to decide to laugh instead of cringe.
This one has a lot of people on the Internet losing their minds… Is it satire? Is she serious? We want to believe it’s a joke. And this is beyond a mere math issue – this is just basic logic and the ability to slide one number over to the other side.
We’re sure these people can make it work. They’ll just need some rockets traveling at the speed of light and some time-traveling capabilities. What?
Time divided by distance gets you units of distance over time? We are so confused. Help.
Except… This actually will happen again. It will happen over and over again, every single night for the whole year.
5. It’s simple math, really
This person wanted to burn a guy with math… It’s too bad he can’t actually do math, though. 0 x 500 is still zero — facts!
6. I don’t think that’s the reason why you won’t be hired
Just because they have a minimum age doesn’t mean they have a maximum age. If this person doesn’t get hired, it will be because of the number of their IQ, not their age!
…yet so far away. This person seems to think that 3000 minus 2020 is 80 but it’s actually 980. I don’t think anyone who’s alive right now is going to see the year 3000.
8. Are you sure you’re doing math?
This person said that people born in 2000 are 25 years. But that doesn’t make any sense because it’s only 2021, and this was posted a few years ago. Thankfully, this person’s response was perfect.
9. We just realized you’re not that bright
Oh, honey. No.
This doesn’t even require math – just moving numbers around.
10. Share your limited edition quarters!
This person must be using special quarters or something, because a dollar every day for a year only equals $365, and he thought a quarter every day for a year gets you $9,125. Nope!
This sale is supposed to be 50% off but then we’re only getting around $2 off? Something isn’t adding up here (literally).
According to this guy, we should all be winning millions of dollars! This is a rare case where I actually wish he was right. The lottery would be so much better that way.
13. How does this work then
So you get 4 for $5, but it’s limited to only 3 per customer. The only way to take advantage of this sale would be to come with another person and split it up maybe… But still doesn’t really make sense. Stop contradicting yourself, store!
But Americans are actually right! A mile is less than a kilometer. Simple math, really!
15. Back to school it is!
“$1,000,000 wouldn’t be enough to fix this person’s education,” someone hilariously commented on Reddit. We don’t want to be too mean but… That is pretty dang funny.
16. Can you even disagree with math, though?
Yeah, sure. If you sleep a couple of hours less, then you can have a 27-hour day… We’re obviously being sarcastic here, by the way.
17. So only 4% of people wash their hands?
We’re not sure this person is doing the right math, as they believe that almost 100% of people wash their hands. Our brains hurt.
18. Please don’t have kids
Please tell us she’s joking.
Then again, maybe a “regnancy” is different from a pregnancy.
19. What do they not get?
How does 190 split up into a perfect 50/50? Easy: 190 divided by 2 is an even 95. Easy as that!
20. Maybe a brain teaser is in order
Physical exercise is great, but if you don’t give your brain a workout as well, you could turn into this “math genius.”
21. We hope they are kidding
Apparently 50 x 0 = 50 but 0 x 50 = 0? Obviously, this is just wrong. We hope they are trolling us. If so, they got us good!
Why would you even try to explain this to someone when you know it’s wrong?
Sometimes when people try to seem clever they look even dumber.
23. Ooooof, we’re not sure about this one
This person knows that you need to be pregnant for 9 months before actually having a baby, right? Apparently not…
Is this dude trolling or just not that bright? He thinks he pulled off some major scam. We think he really just has no idea… Which is honestly hilarious.
This person thinks she’s way closer to 1 billion followers than she actually is. 4 million plus 96 million is 100 million, not 1 billion… Duh.
26. A confusing pie chart
ABC did not do the correct math on this one. The total equals over 100% so yeah, definitely something wrong here.
27. To infinity and beyond
Ok, math IS hard. Especially when you get into the theoretical stuff.
But if you’re going to talk about things with authority, try having enough experience to actually have authority.
28. Potentially a good deal
$90 for both or $40 for each… This could be a great deal — if you buy them each separately, of course. That would make it $80 total, giving you an extra $10 off.
Math isn’t always easy. Sometimes you need a little help. It’s nice to see all of these people come together on the Internet to solve a very basic math problem.
Wow, another crappy deal.
Maybe someone was just hoping to take advantage of people who need a jolt of caffeine.
31. Someone’s saving money…
But it’s not us. Originally sold for $299 but on sale for $324.99? Something’s not right here, but our brains are telling us this is the worst deal ever.
32. Worst motivational poster ever
This is actually making us cringe. Also, shouldn’t this man know how compounding interest works?
We’re pretty sure everyone feels this way, with or without love, because 60 minutes does indeed equal an hour. We bet this guy doesn’t know that 60 seconds is equal to one minute, either.
“I don’t even like math but that’s straight-up disrespect,” someone commented on Reddit. Sadly, we’re going to have to agree with that statement.
Is someone going to tell him? Or should we let him carry on through his life believing this lie?
We’re not really sure how someone can mess this up so bad. Sometimes it feels like people mess it up on purpose? It’s the only way it’d make sense!
But 25 calories multiplied by 6 pieces is 150, not 140. Do we get a calorie discount if we eat more of them? We’re not complaining, we just want to understand.
We’ll take two sets of 3 then, by the looks of this very interesting sale. We’re curious, who’s in charge of coming up with these deals? We just wanna talk.
39. That is not how it works
We’re surprised this business-based media company isn’t better at doing math or pie charts. Actually quite scary!
Imagine being on an airplane for 135 hours? Obviously, somewhere along the way, this math got messed up. That, or they just flew around the world nonstop for fun.
Hopefully, after checking out all of these hilarious derp moments, you feel a little bit smarter!
