A young man named Lucas Fuller is one of the most caring, compassionate, and selfless kids you’ll ever meet. He’s only 11-years-old, and yet his actions are something we could all learn a lesson from.

Lucas and his mother Karen recently noticed that something wasn’t right with their dog named Bear.

Their beloved dog was coughing, wheezing, developing sores on his skin, and even had pus coming from his eyes. Of course, they rushed them to the vet to find out what was wrong.

It turns out that Bear was suffering from a fungal infection called blastomycosis. It is picked up from bacteria in soil and can be fatal if it’s not caught and treated in a timely manner.

The treatment was going to cost the family thousands of dollars, and they didn’t know what to do. That’s when Lucas had an idea.

The 11-year-old decided to create a flyer and post it around town. The flyer was offering his services ranging from mowing a lawn to washing a car. He explains that it’s for his sick dog.

Lucas was determined to do everything in his power to help save his dog’s life. When a neighbor spotted the young man’s flyer in the neighborhood — it broke her heart.

The neighbor was touched by the boy’s flyer to raise money for his dog and shared the touching sentiment on Facebook. It quickly went viral.

People everywhere saw Lucas’s admirable efforts and wanted to help him reach his goal to pay for Bear’s medical costs. They were curious to know how they could help donate to the cause.

Soon after, Karen ended up setting up a GoFundMe page for Bear with a $2,000 goal. It wasn’t long until that goal was not only beat but doubled.

Bear has a lot of treatment left to undergo, but thanks to so many people’s donations — Lucas and his family have enough money to pay for the medical costs.

Lucas’s actions are some of the sweetest we’ve come across. His drive to help save the life of his dog is incredibly touching and extremely admirable.

Bear is on a slow road to recovery, but they couldn’t be more grateful for the support of the community, and complete strangers on the other side of the world.

Lucas, Karen, and Bear shared their story with a local news station below. We’re so proud of this selfless 11-year-old.
